R-Series

The R-Series table cannot be compared to most introductory cutting tables currently on the market. In manual form, the R series table requires only a ‘one finger’ effort to cut, and the bi-directional cutting head (cuts both from right to left and left to right) makes it extremely efficient.

Combined with the backstop for delivering accuracy and squaring, a large blind can be cut easily in 90 seconds (see video). It is also capable of cutting sun screens, light curtain fabrics right through to heavy outdoor PVC, canvas and screen material for awnings. It can also handle double layer cutting when required. The table has a very tight tolerance and accuracy is better than +/- 0.5 mm. This is due to the quality engineering of the table. The R-Series tables come in standard cut length of 3500mm and 3700mm but longer lengths can be quoted and custom built on request.

The table frames are made of powder coated steel for strength and the table tops are moisture resistant structural boards that are laminated top and bottom for stability. The unique design of the cutter tool provides a very low friction device running on a bearing mounted carriage. The blade has a guillotine action and provides a quality cut edge on one or even 2 layers of fabric. This allows fabric to be doubled over and the cut stroke length of the cutting tool is effectively doubled.

The cutter is bi directional – the operator does not have to “home” the cutter. The operator cuts one way, lifts the clamp, turns the fabric, and then cuts back in the reverse direction. This assists the R3500 to achieve high efficiency. The force needed to move the cutter tool is so minimal that an operator can use the table for extended periods without fatigue.

The backstop is full table width, belt equalized and glides freely. It has a lock down to hold position. A lever activated stop ensures fabric can’t slide under the backstop. The backstop is parallel to the cut and right angles to the fabric side guide. This ensures the final cut dimension is accurate and square. Mounted on the backstop is a large magnifier. It is positioned directly above the tape measure. This ensures very accurate reading of the tape and minimized operator error. The backstop has a lifting device so that it can be lifted to slide fabric underneath. This is important and ensures that delicate fabrics are not damaged when they are lifted over the backstop.

A factory technician installation is recommended to ensure that the table will be accurate and square to a fraction of a millimetre.
